In honor of being thankful during the month of November, we started our 1st annual Student Appreciation Week. Each teacher gave six students cards of thanks that administration had printed in color. Teacher also made posters to thank their students, shared a reason why they were thankful for them each day, gave small treats, had appreciation game periods, and much, much more.
Administration showed the students we are thankful for them by each day visiting a certain class (i.e. Monday was math classes, Tuesday was reading, ELA, and ELL class, etc) and had 3 students choose a treat from our treat bag. Teachers chose the students based on those who have been following the 3R's so far this year.
We were very excited to be one of very few schools who shows appreciation to our students for a week-long celebration. We will continue with other ways through out the year, but we felt they deserved an entire week-long celebration like the teachers receive.
