All students are taking their English learning onto Edmodo. Edmodo is a safe, private online community where students share their learning via posts and apps. Parents can hook onto their child's account to follow the happenings in class.
We are taking the pledge of donating one minute of our morning announcements for sixty days to literacy. We will have trivia each day and raffles for students who submit the correct answers. The topics will be guess the young adult author, reading passages, Book Tweets, and more. If you read for just 15 minutes a day, you can read a million words in a year. Reading is one way to learn about anything. By reading a book, you can travel the world. Join us in showing the importance of literacy by reading with your child and/or reading yourself. Each team of students joined Mrs. Curt and Ms. Dumas in learning about the expectations of our students. During the assembly, the importance of learning and where it takes you was stressed. Students worked in groups to make lists of how to show the 3R's. Their group's notecards were posted on the 3 huge R's that are posted on the cafeteria's windows. Students learned of little ways to show kindness throughout the day and how to have the courage to stand up to bullying. An education is what can give you a better life then the one you are living now. |
