This FRIDAY the SMILE CLUB is hosting a colorful, spring time dress down day. When students give their homeroom teachers a donations they will get a sticker to wear on Friday that allows them to dress down. All money raised will go to purchase mulch, flowers, plants and possibly bird feeders and bird food for the middle school.
Morning Mystery Readers
Every morning during the week there will be a different reader during the morning announcements. The students are to record their guess, along with their name and HR and hand in the paper to their HR teacher. A winner will be chosen from each grade! Book Drive During Reading Week we will be holding a Book Drive. Students and faculty are asked to bring in unwanted books to donate. Tables will be set up for families to take books during Literacy Night on May 23rd. Decorate Your Door Contest Advisory rooms are encouraged to participate in this contest where you decorate your door based on your favorite book or author. The Reading Teachers will judge the door on Friday, May 17th and prizes will be awarded!! Start decorating now!! DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) We are encouraging everyone to select two Reading periods and allow students to just read and enjoy their favorite book. There will be different crafters and vendors (Tupperware, scentcy and avon, Scarfs). There will be games and a bake table along with a car wash. The table rentals are $25 a piece and doors open at 8 for set-up. The bazaar starts at 9 and ends at 3.
Literacy Night will be held Thursday, May 23rd from 5 to 7 in the Hamlet Cafetorium. There will be much to see and do! We will have a karaoke station, poetry reading, a bookmark making station, a place to watch the Civil war re-enactment, food and so, so much more. We encourage all students and their families to come!
